Study Educational Psychology at HU, and you’ll gain an in-depth understanding on how children, adolescents and adults learn, helping them to harness their strengths and overcome weaknesses.

Educational psychology covers all factors which affect learning and development, including ability IQ, information processing, memory, numeracy skills and literacy, visual-spatial perception, study skills, behavior, attention and anxiety.

This course introduces students to the elements of educational psychology. It also relates as closely as possible the findings of research to classroom practice.

This course starts with a study of the way in which the young child adapts its behavior to its environment. This study considers some of the key aspects of physical development, mainly the central nervous system. At the same time the way physical growth and psychological development are influenced by the experience of the individual is also discussed. Subjects on development is followed by an examination of the processes of learning.

As an Educational Psychologist, you can help clients with the below needs:

  • a child’s development
  • learning difficulties, e.g. in maths or reading
  • school readiness
  • giftedness and talents
  • specific learning disabilities, including dyslexia, mathematical learning difficulties (dyscalculia), maths anxiety.
